Its almost Rakhi time,
Time to tie the thread of love,
That strengthens our bond!

A beautiful time to Wish you,
World's joys and happiness,
May life be filled with prosperity,
May you always be in
the pink of your health.

May God shower his choicest blessings,
May "He" guide you in every step of life,
May Good Luck always smile at you,
May you have the strength to face any challenge!

As "Rakhee" comes closer,
Memories take me back,
to the yonder fun-filled days we shared,
the little fights we had,
and  the pranks  we palyed.

You were there with me ,
whenever I needed you,
to share my sorrows and joys,
Your shoulder was always there, 
for me to cry and rely.

We went to school together,
We palyed numerous games together,
I remember getting you in trouble often,
Today, I sit  back and think
My eyes get moist, 
because of laughter.

Every year I tied you the string,
You showered me with gifts and blessings,
I miss you , as I sit in this unknown land,
I mail you a Rakhee ,to adorne your hand!

The auspicious string, is just not a silken thread,
It symbolises the strong bond we share,
It reminds us of the promises
that we made for each other.

To be for each other
