The pounds on her body never seem to be decreasing! They gained easily but losing was pretty difficult for her. She loved to eat. She loved junk - Potato chips, burgers, pizzas, cakes and what not!!! This foody lady was totally not able to control her tongue. You look at her, one would say, "not all that fat!!" but being over weight was killing her.
She borrowed a book from the library-"Dr. Sam's Diet Programme." Effective weight loss and healthy heart were the focus points. The diet programme was to be practised in 2 phases.
PHASE 1: ABSOLUTE CARB FREE DIET/ SUGAR FREE DIET.
BREAKFAST : V8 and little bit of tomato soup. "Both taste the same!", she whined. V8 was a vegetable drink, that almost tasted like tomato soup. Then a small bowl of oat meal. "Gwwak! It tastes horrible!" But she gulped. No choice!

LUNCH: The diet allowed fish, and some types of meat, along with salad. But she was a stirct veggie babe! So she ate veggie salad:
1.Lettuce, spinach, red cabbage, tomatoes,broccoli. (No roots allowed!!!) with a little bit of mustard and fat free ranch!.
2. A cup of Garbanzo beans.(plainly cooked with a pinch of salt.Grabanzo -our channa).
3. A cup of milk.(Fat free)

AFTER NOON SNACK: 15 pistachios or 10 Almonds or 5 cashews. 1 cup milk.
DINNER :
Same as lunch.
NOTE: No fruits allowed - except Avacados.

She hated it! She had sleeples nights! It was like "Chuhey pet mein khud rahen hain!- Rats jumping in the tummy," because of hunger. Apart from this diet, work out in in the gym for an hour. The worst part of the whole show was when she had to cook for everybody else in the family . They would sit and eat and relish their delicious food, while she would eat all these raw stuff and have sleeples nights! She was in tears most of the time.! Well every efforts have to pay naa---- She lost 5 pounds solid in the first week and 5 more in the next!
She did not have the patience to munch the raw salad like a cow, she ground it in the mixie and swallowed it down her throat! Ewwwwwwwwwww !!! she said!
PHASE 2: INTRODUCTION OF BREADS AND LITTLE OTHER CARBS, BUT THE MAIN MEAL WAS SALAD.
Well she liked it better. But still missed her home made yummy food- Puris, Chappatis, Sambhar, all kinds of Sabjis, etc. Her temptation to eat chips, cakes etc grew grew and greeeeeeeeeeewwwwwwww! She visited friends, ended up eating nothing. Her hubby , that guy asked her to make all the yummy thingys he wanted- No Co-operation! "Why should I????" he would scream!
It was almost 2:00 at midnight. She woke up. Some kind of restlessness was killing her..."Hunger..My taste buds are dead!" She creeped into the kitchen... Fried some hot chilly bajjis, made Kesari........... would you believe?? in the middle of the night!!! . She sat on her dinning- Ate them happily. She lied down to have a peaceful sleep!!!
"Hurrrrrrrrrrrrray!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! No more diet!!!!! I am not on diet!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" she screamed in the morning!!!
After a month of hectic diet programme she promised to herself, that she would never ever be on diet! "Who cares!"

That kesari and bajji in the night must have put back all the weight you had lost. Losing wt is hard. Gaining is the easiest thing on earth.

Just walk it all off and eat what you want, whenever you want or better yet visit chennai in Summer... the heat will absorb EVERYTHING! I promise ;))))
